Vehicles in Germany's City Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Report

Authorities stated they were alerted by a resident who noticed a vehicle in Hanau covered with red-colored fluid

Around fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Officers say they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.

The substance had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they reported.

Officers then discovered many other marked cars and residential walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement state early analysis show the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; investigators are presently not cognizant of any harm in relation with the incident," they commented.

Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for details.

An important representative commented the incident left him stunned and had to be solved promptly.

"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing attack in 2020," he wrote on online, referring to the killing of nine victims by a gunman targeting individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
