National Football League Week Five Highlights: Texans vs Ravens and Additional Games

Live Football Coverage

Welcome, football fans! Welcome to week five of the National Football League action, as I provide live coverage from the first matchups. This is a nice late morning start on the west coast at 10:00 AM (PST), running to an early evening 6:00 PM (BST) in the UK. We just saw, the Vikings fought back to beat the Cleveland Browns by four points thanks to a 12-yard Jordan Addison TD reception with under half a minute remaining at the London venue. The Vikings improve to 3-2, while the Browns drop to 1-4. Today's slate is underway.

We have a healthy roster of 6 games to follow:

  • Baltimore Ravens against Texans

  • Panthers against Dolphins

  • Indianapolis Colts against Las Vegas Raiders

  • Saints vs New York Giants

  • Jets against Cowboys

  • Philadelphia Eagles against Denver Broncos

Key Game: Philadelphia Host Broncos

A highlight contest is going down in Philly with the undefeated Super Bowl champions welcoming from the Broncos. On paper, you might expect an easy win, but a brief look reveals headlines doubting whether the Eagles are the least impressive undefeated squad ever. It's unclear. What we do know, is they have enjoyed some fortune on kick units with multiple blocked attempts, including one that earned a victory against the Los Angeles Rams. A crucial factor will be how Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph prepares his defense to stop the Eagles' dual threat quarterback Jalen Hurts from charging down the field. Should they make them throw, then a significant victory might result for the Broncos, now with two wins and two losses, which would have many analysts, including me, who said the Broncos would finally depose the Chiefs in the division looking a little happier.

Additional Matchups to Watch

In other games, a host of one-win wonders are eager to move nearer to a winning record with a W, or exactly there in the case of the Dallas Cowboys after their madcap 40-40 tie with the Packers has them at one win, two losses, one tie. A trip to the Meadowlands to face the yet to win New York Jets should do the trick as they look to keep the scoring outbursts flowing between quarterback Prescott and receiver Pickens. In the long run, star pass catcher CeeDee Lamb’s injury might benefit the Cowboys as his expanded duties since will have sped up his development, making the offense stronger when he comes back. Currently, the New York's backfield needs to be alert and even more to avoid a disappointing fall to 0-5.

Ravens Take On Texans in Surprising Clash

A pair of surprising 1-3 merchants go head-to-head in Baltimore as the banged-up Baltimore Ravens are led into action with the Houston Texans by reserve QB Rush. In this fixture last season, we saw Beyoncé’s stupendous half-time show bookended by Houston enduring a devastating one-sided defeat at home on Christmas Day, then a 34-10 beating in the postseason a month later at Baltimore. But, in the absence of the hurt two-time MVP Lamar Jackson on the field, who passed for multiple scores, scored additional TDs, and accumulated massive yardage in the two thrashings, Houston’s defense will be confident.
