A Pair of Detentions in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

This incident resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
